*** UPDATE from March 21, 2023 — The two YouTube channels defined below were merged back into one channel (Easing Anxiety) in early 2023. There is no longer a separate Benzo Free Channel. You can visit our single channel at: https://youtube.com/@easinganx. ***
December 8th, 2020 — Easing Anxiety now supports two distinct YouTube Channels for our content.
The original channel, Easing Anxiety, will continue to provide general anxiety content including our series 101 Anxiety Tips, our Anxiety VLOG, our relaxation / meditation videos, and more. Our new channel, Benzo Free, is focused on benzos, dependence, and withdrawal and includes the Benzo Free Podcast, Benzo Mornings with D, and other content.
The Easing Anxiety Channel
The Easing Anxiety Channel is our original YouTube Channel started in March of 2020. It has been the sole resource for all of our video content since it was our one and only channel.
As we grew, we saw the need to separate the content to avoid confusion and provide alternatives to our viewers. Thus, the Benzo Free Channel was born.
The Easing Anxiety Channel is now home general anxiety content only. This includes our series, “101 Anxiety Tips,” our Anxiety VLOGS which provide a personal conversation about anxiety and its effects, our Meditation / Relaxation Videos, and more.
The Benzo Free Channel
The Benzo Free Channel officially launched on December 8th, 2020, and has only a few subscribers and limited content at this time. When queried, some of our viewers let us know that they would prefer a separate channel for benzo-related content. And thus, this channel was founded.
The Benzo Free Channel is home to all benzo-related content. This is our original audience and we wanted to make sure that we had a dedicated location for the support of the benzo community. This content includes The Benzo Free Podcast, our brand new live chat, Benzo Mornings with D, the Benzo Free Roundtable coming in early 2021, and more.
The Transition
Let me explain a bit about this transition.
New Benzo Content — Effective today, all new benzo-related YouTube content will be released on the new Benzo Free Channel, and not on the Easing Anxiety Channel. This does not affect the release of our podcast on our third-party carriers (Apple Podcast, Spotify, TuneIn, etc.), which will continue as before.
Existing Benzo Content — All benzo-related content already posted on our Easing Anxiety Channel will remain there for the time being. This is a tricky transition, and unfortunately, it will negatively affect our standing on YouTube regardless of how we go about it.
There are two factors that influence this process:
YouTube does not allow duplicate content to be loaded onto separate channels. Thus, we cannot post the same podcast episode or video on Easing Anxiety and Benzo Free at the same time. That was my original plan for the content we’ve already posted, but as you can see this won’t be happening — another lesson learned.
Once I move the remaining benzo content to the new channel, we will lose all the views, likes, and comments linked to each video. This could significantly affect the standing of our channel on YouTube and make it harder for people to find us for a while.
Regardless of the possible complications, I still believe this is the right decision. The longer we wait to make this move, the harder it will be, and the more we will have to lose (views, subscribers, comments, etc.). Thus, I do plan to move the remaining benzo content over to the new channel at a later date, but I have not determined the method or timing of that transition.
How Can You Help?
Visit the new channel and subscribe.
At the time I posted this email, our new Benzo Free Channel has just one subscriber — and can you guess who that one subscriber is? Yup, yours truly. We’re starting from scratch, just as all new channels do.
If you are interested in our benzo content, please click on the link above now, visit our Benzo Free Channel, and subscribe — that way you can be notified of all new videos and podcast episodes when they are available. And while you are there, if you’d like to view some of the content — and even comment on it — that would help even more.
And one more thing, if you haven’t subscribed to our Easing Anxiety Channel yet, now’s a good time to do that too. By subscribing to both channels, you will be notified about all new content released as soon as it is online.
Thank you.
Thank You
This change will be a bit rough at first, but I believe it is the right decision in the long-run. Please visit the channel via the links above, and let me know what you think.
Thanks for your patience during this transition.
Peace and joy to all, D 🙂
